Impression of a man - sculpture 6'x4'x2'
Leaving an impression of ourselves is something we have all done at some stage in our lifetime; footprints in the sand when we played on the beach as children, Handprints around the house when were decorating, Angels in the snow, Shadow on the wall, or a memory in someone's mind. But always fleeting, temporary and transient.
This work looks at a moment in time, whether from the past, present or future. But not of something that is, rather something that was. What we see is not a man, but the space occupied by a man. This raises questions as to who he was? What did he do? Where did he come from? What did he look like? Yet the important thing is to know that he was here.
